Palm Court Hotel and Mojos bar had green light for demolition




THE Palm Court Hotel and Mojos bar had been given the green light for demolition before this weekend's fire.
Police are treating the fire as arson, and their investigations are continuing.
So far, no one has been arrested.
Police are trying to establish whether vagrants had lit a fire which got out of control or whether someone intended to damage the building.

Police are treating the weekend's fire at the Palm Court Hotel as arson


POLICE are treating the destruction of the dilapidated Palm Court Hotel as arson.
But no decision has been made as to whether the now 'structurally unsafe' building, which caught fire early on Saturday morning, will have to demolished.
At its height, six fire appliances and 42 fire fighters tackled the blaze after police noticed smoke coming from the Torquay seafront building at 6.30am.
